Konecta UK have recently been involved in some fund raising for local charities. There are many local charities who could benefit from donations and we would want to help by asking our employees to get involved and help those in need. We would like to take this opportunity to thank all who have been involved and have a helped to make a difference to many people’s lives.
In September 2018 we collected food and clothing donations from our staff to help out a local charity Lodging House Mission which is a Glasgow based Charity who help disadvantaged people get their lives back on track.
We also took part in MacMillan Coffee morning for The MacMillam Cancer Support charity, this was a great opportunity for our employees to bake and bring in some goodies to be sold for a donation for this charity, with over 200 different kinds of Cancer this unfortunately affects a lot people.
In October we took advantage of Halloween to have a little fun in dressing up as well as donating to Cash for kids whether you dressed up or dressed down. A couple of our HR colleagues went to the local Radio station where this charity is part of and heard first hand some of the upsetting stories of children in and around Glasgow who are living in poverty, some of these children’s can go 24 or 48 hours without food, only being fed during school hours as their parents are either unable to afford or are dealing with other issues such as Mental Health. Cash for kids collect and distribute to local charities with 100% of their funds going directly to thosewho need it.
In December we are going to continue our fundraising for Cash for Kids with our Mission Christmas. We will be participating in Christmas Jumper day on Thursday 13th December with a donation going to this worthy cause.
